| Our
Mediaeval Fayre - first Saturday in September
This event takes place annually at the beginning of September,
from 10.30-16.00, in the church grounds (weather permitting!)
Stalls
are positioned outside church between the ancient yew trees.
There are cakes, preserves, jewellery, plants, crafts, books
and bric-a-brac
for sale. Stall holders dress in mediaeval costumes. We organise
side-shows, raffles, tombolas, exhibitions and tours of the
old Norman church. Refreshments
are served all day and the barbecue is ready by lunchtime.
Visitors can make rubbings of the old brasses inside church.
We charge a small admission fee.
Our Church Lunches
Once a month following the 11.00
Sunday service, our team of caterers provide a two course
hot lunch (traditional roast/vegetarian choice and vegetables),
pudding, coffee or tea. We ask for a contribution of £3.50
for adults and £2.00 for children. Church lunches are
great way to meet our church family.
Upton Evenings
Our organist Keith
Bosley has prepared an interesting programme of talks
and concerts - details can be found in the church
diary. Past Upton Evenings have seen poetry recitals,
ghost stories, organ and instrumental recitals. The evenings
end with a chat and a glass of refreshment. Any funds raised
go to the payment of the new organ.
