Our Parish
Saint Laurence's Church is part of the Church
of England parish of Upton cum Chalvey, which derived
its name from two historic districts of Slough - Upton, in
the East of the parish and Chalvey, in the West of the parish.
Saint Laurence's Church serves Slough's Upton ward - an area
between the M4 to the South, the A4 to the North and Yew Tree
Road to the West. The three Anglican churches in our parish
- Saint Laurence's, Saint
Mary's and Saint
Peter's - work together as a team ministry, and are served
by three clergy and two
parish wardens.
Our neighbourhood ministry
Saint Laurence's maintains a distinctive neighbourhood ministry,
and particularly seeks to work with young families and children.
Through children, teachers, and school governors who worship
at our church, we maintain close links with
Saint Mary's CE Primary School. Over the years, we have
deepened our partnership with the congregation of Saint Andrew's
Methodist Church, with whom we share in worship
once a month.
